On Paris outskirts by midday. Most of the group headed into the city but I stayed with Nikki (stores manager and driver's partner) and Jim (funny Canadian bloke) to shop for food supplies. Coq au vin for dinner with cheese and biscuits and grapes. Pep talk from Kelvin (English driver with many overland expeditions under his belt).
Penned diaries in the truck. Played cards and drank wine till all hours. Fellow-Aussie Vicki opened a bottle of Johnny Walker red label and had some with me. Roped Jim and Bob (another Canadian and my cooking partner) into cards. Vicki staggered off and we didn’t see her again for ages. Woke up much later and she was in her sleeping bag, so all okay.
