Went with Markus & Myrta to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, getting spectacular side views of the falls, rainbows and the pedestrian bridge with the Zimbabwean bridge in the background, all blurred by huge clouds of spray. Walked along the wet and slippery pedestrian bridge, spray drenching us. Returned late morning and sat down where the Zambezi foamed on rocks and wrote, inspired by the sounds and sights.
Crossed to the Zimbabwe side again - both border crossing easy and the staff friendly - and walked along the falls track a second time, past the statue of Livingstone to the calmer water above the falls and washed my hands and face in the Zambezi River. Revisited every lookout, getting very wet peering into thick spray almost blocking the views and marvelling again at crystal clear vistas bathed in sunshine.
Dripped back to and through border control again, then headed to the Intercontinental Hotel to write, via the souvenir shop, where I spent my last kwachas. It was dark by the time I got back along the road to our truck. which was fully of happy travellers, some of whom had opted for the booze cruise. Delicious dinner. Graham, the driver from the northbound Exodus truck stayed with us till late, Kel and hime like the Bobsy Twins.
