Our coastal jaunt began today, so we headed into town to shop, and cash more money, and buy a huge sack of wholemeal bread, before we left the city.
Initially the drive was fairly and very brown, proof of the desperate shortage of water. Thorn trees appeared to be the only thriving plants. I started another Robert Ludlum novel, looking up every now and then for changes in scenery - and our first glimpse of Mt Kilimanjaro, the majestic sentinel rising into the clouds, it's peak hidden.
A good road took us to the gates of Amboseli National Park to check out early entry tomorrow. Had to hide our long-horned cattle skull again.
Camped on grey dust that will be hell if it rains. Helped out with dinner, including cake for Ann’s birthday, and got everything cooked before dark - a first for her team.
