Made Bob and Mel’s eggs Benedict for breakfast, which went down a treat.
Long drive-late with shopping stop in a small town where purchases included: cold café au lait, loofah glove (35 dinar!), fresh dates, real BIC biros, towel for Bob, colour coordinated strawberry shampoo.
Freezing cold in the truck; more and more sleeping bags pulled out as the day progressed. I curled up with another book and borrowed Hawk's headphones (bright yellow with flat disks that actually sit in your ear) - what a difference from my one-sided muted ones. Two traditional music tapes and then Leo Sayer, I think very loud so everyone could hear as well.
After driving through a pine-forested valley with monkeys on the roadside, we made it into the flatlands where ... it started to rain, a deluge. So heavy we had to drive with all the sides down, lights on and sleeping bags up. When we pulled off to camp there was chaos as we rushed around trying to pitch tents and organise cooking. I got drenched dashing to the loo (a tree offering some cover). The back of the truck rapidly became a quagmire of mud as dripping people huddled together to try to keep warm.
The rain and wind stopped as suddenly as they started, and a few of us braver adventurers huddled around the fire and watched stars appearing. Finally into our sleeping bags, Vicki, Myrta and I warm as toast down one side of the truck.
