Lovely sleep in despite Vicki being unable to enjoy a lie in and opening every plastic and paper bag in her locker before finally seeming to be satisfied that she was equipped to abscond with Hawken to the beach. I finally got up about 8.15 to find the campfire blazing and no work to be done.
Mammoth clean of truck and reorganisation of the food lockers with Nikki, Vicki and Bob. Then we drove into the nearest town for an easy shop. Murray Goulburn butter for sale!
Found out the hammam and the douches (showers) were men-only today. Us grotty ladies were contemplating another night before getting a wash. But the douches opened at 2pm especially for us, and I had a deliciously hot shower - scrubbed, pumiced, soaked, shampooed, glowingly clean by the end. Washed clothes too and were happy little Vegemites when we sought a cafe. An Algerian gentlemen shouted us our Fantas and Cokes so were even happier when we returned to the truck.
Back to same delightful campsite with all the rubbish, where Nikki set up her haircutting salon and trimmed my hair - watched by Algerians who appeared and then disappeared again from behind a creek bank.
Started letter to mum and dad at long last before dinner: another culinary triumph for Bob and I of delicious spaghetti bolognaise and caramel popcorn.
Kelvin and Ann were intrigued by the corn popping, having never seen it done before, Kel an even bigger kid than normal, eyes sparkling and almost climbing into the saucepan. Strange for us popcorn fiends to find people who have never popped their own before.
